Seminars run for 1 or 2 days, including minimum two hour instruction and one hour sparring with the Marcos per day. Seminars are customized to meet the needs and level of the academy or to the request of the host instructor.
I train at EDH BJJ. I went to one of his seminars. It was extremely fantastic and very informative. It was very technical. I definitely improved my game immediately.
Marcos caters the seminar to meet the skill level and goals of the students. Typical areas focused in seminars are:
- Competition tested techniques
- Basic and fundamental details that make incredible difference in one’s development
- Attack and defense sequences
- Common errors encountered with students
- Q&A and troubleshooting
Custom packages and week long training camps can also be organized per request. Benefits of week long training camps or additional training sessions include:
- More time to explore the important details of fundamental techniques of Marcos Torregrosa’s competition tested techniques
- Each training session is built on one another through a series of drills and training methods taken from Marcos’ personal training program
- Better assessment of the students BJJ skill level and spending more time on correcting common BJJ mistakes observed
We had the opportunity to host a seminar with Professor Torregrosa. All of my students had the opportunity to attend and they all had a great time. Not only did they have a great time, but they got to understand and get a firm grasp on creating a system and creating a game plan. They also got to start to understand what is Jiu-Jitsu to them. Not just a generic "this game of jiu-jitsu" but a very individualized idea of what Jiu-Jitsu is and what it could be.
Professor Torregrosa teaches in a very tangible way so that the students can understand the high level moves and even begin to incorporate them the following day. I have been to other seminars where things can be very chaotic with a lot of things going on, but Yemaso's seminars are always very structured. At the same time though, there is a very loose "Q & A" session that he has at the end of the seminar where he answers EVERYONE'S questions.
If you have the opportunity to host him at your school, I highly encourage it. It will be a very enhancing experience for the students as well as the instructor.
When people make the commitment to bring Marcos Torregrosa for a seminar or a training week, they are also making one of the best decisions to help elevate the level of grappling in their academy.
Marcos wants everyone to improve each moment, drill and day during his stay. Aside from this, Marcos typically generates interest among other academies and around the region bringing good publicity to your school. Past Marcos Torregrosa seminars are usually very successful and mutually beneficial for the host academy in terms of covering the cost involved.
It is a great honor and privilege to have my friend Marcos Torregrosa teaching a seminar at my academy. He is a world champion, a very dedicated, and inspiring martial artist. My students are all inspired by him and I am always inspired by him when I am around him.
This was my second seminar with Marcos. What I appreciate most about his seminars is, most specifically, his passion for the sport which be brings across to us students. His systems approach is very detail oriented. I am able to remember those techniques by utilizing those systems that he sets forth. I really appreciated the seminar, it's always a good time.

I am so appreciative to have been able to train with you in your seminar today at RDA. Your instruction is highly useful at all levels, and your interest keen. Roy Dean describes you as "top shelf," which if possible may be an understatement.
